Why people check recent follows

Understand what's going on

A friend has new interests, a new circle, a new city. Recent follows give you context before you ask.

Look out for a child's public account

Parents of teens with a public profile can see which accounts the profile starts following. Private accounts cannot be tracked.

Keep up with people you work with

Creators, partners and competitors: see who they start following, week by week.

Why you can't see this inside Instagram anymore

Until 2019 Instagram had a Following Activity tab that showed what the people you follow liked and followed. Instagram removed it, and nothing replaced it.

Today a public profile's Following list is still visible, but its order is not strictly chronological, and nothing marks recent follows. If an account was followed yesterday, nothing in the app tells you so.

A recent-follows report fills that gap: we save the list over time and show you what was added in each week or month.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Enter a username.

Type the username of any public Instagram account; your Instagram login is not needed.

  2. 2

    We track the changes.

From that day on, we save the account's public likes, follows and unfollows.

  3. 3

    You get a report.

Weekly and monthly reports in your dashboard show everything that changed during that period.

Why not just check Instagram? Instagram removed the Following Activity tab in 2019. Today the app shows no record of recent follows or the posts someone liked. A Snoopreport tracker keeps that record for you.

Reading a recent-follow report without jumping to conclusions

A follow is a small action. People follow accounts after a suggestion, a shared post, a mutual friend, or by accident.

If something in a report worries you, the most useful next step is usually a conversation.

  • A new follow shows that an account was added, not why.
  • Several follows of one kind, for example a band and its members, usually point to a new interest.
  • A follow followed by a quick unfollow is often a mis-tap.
  • A report covers public actions only, and up to 75% of them. A missing follow does not prove it did not happen.

What We Track and What We Don't

Trusted by 500,000+ users since 2017

We track

  • Public accounts only
  • Actions of the tracked account itself: the accounts it follows and unfollows, and the posts it likes
  • Changes from the day tracking starts; earlier history is available as a retrospective report for $1.19 per account per week

We don't track

  • Private accounts
  • Who follows the tracked account: reports cover its own actions, not its followers
  • Direct messages, comments, story views or online status
  • Every single action: Instagram does not make all activity public, so a report captures up to 75% of an account's public actions

A report shows that an action happened during the week or month, not why it happened.

Snoopreport reviews

It’s an awesome tool that lets you track likes and follows on any public profile. It’s basically a feature that was on IG before 2019, but in the form of handy reports. The only catch is that you have to wait about a week for the reports to be generated. Alternatively, you can pay a few bucks and get the retrospective data immediately

I’ve been using it for a few months to track some competitors of my business, and it works really well for this. Tracking them gave me a lot of insights into how to manage my business Instagram profile. Also, being able to get past activity reports helped a lot, since I didn’t have to wait for the activity to happen.

This is the perfect tool for keeping up with what my favorite celebrities do on Instagram. I love being able to see what posts they like, who they follow, and how their interests change over time. I tested a couple other trackers, but Snoopreport was the most complete. Highly recommend if you’re curious about your favorite public figures!

Recent follows FAQ

How can I see who someone recently followed on Instagram?

Add their public username to Snoopreport. Each weekly or monthly report lists the accounts they followed during that period.

Can I see when they followed an account?

It depends. Reports don't show the exact day. They show which accounts were followed within each week or month, starting from the day you add the account. Earlier history is available as a retrospective report for $1.19 per account per week.

Will they be notified?

No. We use public data only, and Instagram sends no notification. Your own account is never connected.

Does it work for a private account?

No. We track public accounts only.
